german umlauts get lost after formatting

I use this tool in germany and i found a problem with the german umlauts.

If, for example, an item description contains umlauts (and utf-8 file encoding), they are shown correctly before formatting the file. If I format the text with your formatter, the umlauts are lost and shown as �.

For example:
IMD+F++:::Grundierung graugrün 1L'

gets

IMD+F++:::Grundierung graugr�n 1L'

Don't know if already posted, but it's a bit annoying.
