Hello, may you advise on how exactly to compare two amd RDNA 1 atom video bios, one original, one unlocked & some how capture all the changes & be able to deploy these changes to any RDNA 2 vbios, possibly? Thanks

Like for instance list all offset differences locations & what was changed, like a full analysis of the hex data of both vbios files?

Among its many tools ImHex includes a diffing tool that allows you to find the differences between two binary files. It displays the files side by side and highlights the values that are different. Below it also provides a list of differences according two their address and the type of modification. The following is a small example of what differences it can find. Beyond that you will have to find a way to create patches and another way to deploy them. Neither one seems like an easy step considering the possible consequences of mistakes.

Thank you. So is there any way to deploy to file or copy & paste the specific changes to file for comparison?
Can you help me out, possibly? Compare these two files & send all changes & number or changes here?

What I am ultimately trying to do here is compare the changes made by the option "Try To Unlock" with Igorslab "Red Bios Editor" AMD Radeon RDNA 1 Video BIOS editor. Then compare the changes over a say 3, is that an optimal number to compare & assemble the sequence or algorithm of how they unlock the video bios? & ultimately apply such changes to RDNA 2 video bios.

I am not sure what it is that you need help with. simply load the two files in imhex , open the diffing tool and select the files, click on options for options and that's it. Bear in mind this is a simple differences tool and it detects basic modifications insertions and deletions, extrapolating that to create patches to modify your specific use case is something you probably want to handle yourself. I least if it was me I wouldn't let anybody make arbitrary modifications to the bios of a graphics chip of mine.

@paxcut True that but as me & you know the word "arbitrary" means adjective based on random choice or personal whim, rather than any reason or system. Which you & countless others would entail that the modifications I propose are at the fullest order of excellence. I am # 1 on 3dmark with any AMD GPU I propose I will take the time to hyper focus my passion on. So would being # 1, as a result of your proposed "arbitrary" modifications, be well advised, or ill advised? Does that make sense? What I mean is it your ideology to let the manufacturer do all the work, and remain in LAST PLACE for ALL ETERNITY on 3dmark as a result? Just wanted to let you know, it hurt my sensitive feelings when you jumped to the conclusion of saying the modifications I propose to make to the video bios are "arbitrary".

I am afraid you misunderstood. I was responding to your request of having the work done by me and was merely stating that if I were you, I (that is, you) would never entrust anybody with the task of finding the differences and blindly accept their results which to me (that is, to you) could be seen as potentially arbitrary and I guess I was right on the money. It seems to me that it would be a lot more productive to show you the way to obtain the changes and let you decide how you want to use them moving forward, than trying to do as much as possible myself since I know very little about the particulars pf the use case. Getting differences of two binary files is easy. patching video bioses is not unless you already know how to do it. I am sorry about giving you the impression that I had any preconceptions on your abilities so please accept my apology.
