Hello, I came across this repo from a thread about using Captive Portals in a public setting (cafe, hotel, etc.) It seems like GNU+Linux distros seem to struggle when it comes to Captive Portals, due to it being "similar to a DNS hack" according to some people.
I am currently running Fedora Design Suite. Would I be able to use capnet-assist in Fedora, or do I need to specifically use Elementary OS? Do any of the commands change from Elementary to Fedora?
I read through the ReadMe and I don't recognize most of the commands (
meson
,ninja test
,ninja install
,io.elementary.capnet-assist
, etc.)I'd really like to resolve this hotel wifi problem I've been dealing with. I've already tried:
route -n
, copy the gateway, point to the gateway in browsermore /etc/resolv.conf
, copy the IP of the nameserver, point to that in browserI feel like I've tried everything at this point! :(
