Is it possible to download a Github release using a flux kustomization?

I'd like to download an asset that's located at a Github release URL:

https://github.com/cert-manager/cert-manager/releases/download/v1.14.5/cert-manager.crds.yaml

Is there a way to have this file processed using a Flux Kustomization? I've tried the following:

This does not work. Is there a way to access manifests located under the /releases folder? Thanks.

+1 This would be really nice, in this case, the solution is to use a kustomize.config.k8s.io/v1beta1 to pull apply the crds, here is an exemple : https://github.com/brainfair/awesome-flux-crds/blob/main/crds/cert-manager/kustomization.yaml

In some case, I guess you could also use the branch with the release name/tag, granted it contains the file you need ( you don't have access to the release assets ).
In this case though, it wouldn't work as the files in https://github.com/cert-manager/cert-manager/blob/v1.16.2/deploy/crds/README.md are not intended to be applied directly.

I guess you could also create at git repo or bucket that mirrors the release asset(s), but that seems a bit cumbersome for what is essentially a kubectl apply -f https://... ; Still it would be interesting to do, I guess there exists some tooling for doing this automatically with gitops, I didn't research it through yet but if someone knows :).
