how to select tableview by cell or block? (not by row)

Is there any way to select a box region from a tableview? (like excel)
if there is no way, how can I use entry or label to grid a Table, (I think I need a virtual view to show large data)

after some research, I have 2 way:

1. use canvas draw anything，（when need edit, place an entry, and remove it when finished）
2. use the scrolled frame, and insert panewindow as header and index, entry as cell.
   which is the better way?
