align with newest packaging standards?

In the newest version of the R packages book https://r-pkgs.org/index.html, there are some new guidelines!

They provide a toy package example here https://github.com/jennybc/foofactors.

I tried to follow along with some choices for my packages, and came up with https://github.com/japhir/rpackagesetup, so it seems the flexibility is quite high. Perhaps the cookiecutter template should be the simplest minimal case that can then be extended with usethis?
